Travel: McMinnville, TN

Thanks to an impromptu excursion, I have awoken my dormant-for-far-too-long travel bug! I woke up early on Monday, January 13th and realized I needed to reschedule my day because I had to drive 1.5 hours away for something. I am someone who prefers last minute plans, so I packed my gear, some food for myself and Winnie (my pup), and announced to her 'we're going on an adventure today'.

To arrive at our final destination, we had to go through McMinnville. This is a small town I have driven past many times before always saying, 'next time we need to stop in here'. After a nice hike, we headed back to what I always noted as 'the town with the really cool water tower' as it is definitely something you notice when you are approaching the area. We found a parking spot very easily (yay!) and ventured out on foot. The weather was perfect being what I keep referring to as 'a Canadian spring-like' sunny day, we made our way along the main one-way street, crossing over to both sides and then cutting up and then down and then on through to the location of the Farmer's Market nestled beside that stunning McMinnville minty-green and white tower. A small town yes, but a town full of character. Among the sights was the central square and fountain and many great little shops which included a juice bar, a flower shop, a home decor shop, some boutiques, candy shops and an outfitter's shop. And although they were closed, I did peak inside and am excited to come on a day they are open –not only to browse but also to converse with the locals.

📍McMinnville TN located almost in the centre of the State, North of Chattanooga and North-East of Nashville.

**I am planning another visit in the early spring (Feb-May) before the heat kicks in!
